Cannabis Espresso Martini
A bold espresso martini built on caryophyllene logic — dark roast, coffee liqueur, a 5 mg canna-butter wash, and three beans for luck. This is the after-dinner drink that makes dessert unnecessary.
Ingredients
- 2 oz vodka (good, not great — the coffee does the work)
- 1 oz freshly pulled espresso, cooled slightly
- 0.75 oz coffee liqueur (Kahlúa or Mr. Black)
- 0.5 oz simple syrup
- 1 tsp cannabis-infused coconut oil or canna-butter (~5 mg THC), melted
- 3 coffee beans, for garnish
- Ice
How to make it
- 1
Pull a fresh shot of espresso using a dark French or Italian roast. Let it cool for 2 minutes — hot espresso will melt the ice too fast and dilute the drink.
- 2
In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, espresso, coffee liqueur, simple syrup, and melted cannabis-infused oil.
- 3
Add a generous handful of ice. Shake hard for 15 seconds — the fat from the infused oil will emulsify into the crema.
- 4
Double-strain into a chilled coupe glass.
- 5
Float three coffee beans on the crema. Serve immediately.
Cooking tips
- Pair with GSC or Bubba Kush — the caryophyllene pepper matches the dark roast's smoke.
- The infused oil emulsifies during shaking, distributing the dose evenly. Don't skip the hard shake.
- At 5 mg in a single drink, pace yourself. This is the second martini, not the first.
- For a non-alcoholic version, replace vodka with 2 oz chilled espresso and double the coffee liqueur with a non-alcoholic substitute.

Why this pairing works
Caryophyllene — in your strain and on your plate
The only terpene that also activates the body's CB2 receptors, caryophyllene brings warm, peppery depth. It loves bold, savory, spicy food—peppercorn steak, aged cheeses, curries.
